Unassigned shifts also called 'Open shifts' are created without the employees. The unassigned shifts appear under a separate row, as shown in the screenshot below.

Create an Unassigned shift:

To create an (unassigned shift), click the Empty area for any date in the calendar and select the Position for which you want to create a shift, and click the 'Save' button.

Assign employees to an 'Un-assigned' shift:

Click any shift appearing under the 'Un-assigned shifts' row. Scroll a bit down and select any employee to work on that shift.

Note: You will see each employee's Availability status appearing next to his/her name. 

Preferred: Employee would prefer to be scheduled at tat time.

Available: Employee is available to be scheduled at that time.

Unavailable: Employee is not available at that time.

Sign of a (Plane): The employee is on leave for that day.
