Schedule Shift Breaks

Objective

The objective of this tutorial is to help you understand how to create scheduled breaks for your staff members within each created shift. 


Overview

(Optional) Scheduled shift breaks keep your staff members organized and makes it easy for managers to make sure that their employees are not all taking breaks at the same time.


Things to know before you begin:

  1. You must have a manager/admin, supervisor and scheduler access privileges to create schedule shift breaks.
  2. You can navigate the schedule to different dates by clicking the arrows found at top mid of the app.
  3. This is not directly connected to the time clock module. Therefore, ask your employees to clock in and out of breaks using time clock module to make sure your employees are taking breaks according to the scheduled shift breaks.
  4. Schedule breaks won't be deducted/effective and shown under Payroll.


Schedule Shift Breaks


Step 1: Click ‘ShiftPlanning’ tab from the top panel as shown in Image 1.

Step 2: Click ‘Schedule Overview’ from the left-hand side filter panel as shown in Image 2.

Step 3: Create a shift or click on an existing desired shift to open the shift edit window as shown in Image 3.

Step 4: Click the ‘coffee icon’  next to the employee name as shown in Image 4.

Step 5: Click on the timeline on the right to designate a start time for the break as shown in Image 5.

Step 6: You will be prompted to determine how long the break is going to last, type in the duration as shown in Image 6.

Step 7: Click ‘Ok’ as shown in Image 7.

Step 8: Click ‘Save & Close’ as shown in Image 8.

Note:
Once these changes to the shift have been published/re-published, your employees will only be notified of their assigned break times.
